Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine announced in its first issue of 2024 that Gosho Aoyama's Detective Conan manga will be temporarily suspended until the seventh issue, which goes on sale on January 10. The suspension coincides with the manga's 30th anniversary. To celebrate this milestone, Shogakukan will hold six different themed Detective Conan commemorative exhibitions in Tokyo on January 12 and across Japan thereafter. Message from Gosho Aoyama to celebrate the 30th anniversary:The magazine also announced that the next Detective Conan movie, the 27th film in the series, will be called "Million Dollar Five-Prism", and the story will tell a battle of wits between Hattori Heiji and Kaito Kid. Kaito Kid announced that he wanted to steal a "big gem" worth one million dollars, and the movie may also include a confession scene between Heiji and Kazuha. The film is scheduled to be released on April 12, 2024. Other anniversary celebration plans include a commemorative theme cafe, a special issue in April with Da Vinci magazine, an upgraded version of the "certain T-shirt" that has been popular for seven years, and a special full-page advertisement in the national Yomiuri Shimbun on January 10. |
