Famous director David Lynch dies at 78

Today (January 17), renowned director and screenwriter David Lynch passed away at the age of 78. His family announced the death in a Facebook post, writing: "We, his family, are deeply saddened to announce that artist David Lynch has passed away. We would like to ask for privacy at this time. Now that he is no longer with us, there is a huge hole in the world. But, as he said, 'Keep your eyes on the doughnut, not the hole in the middle.'"

In August 2024, David Lynch said that he had been diagnosed with emphysema caused by years of smoking, and he might not be able to leave home to film again.

David Keith Lynch is an American director, screenwriter, producer, composer and photographer. His films are bizarre, psychedelic and surreal. His representative works include the biographical film "The Elephant Man", the crime suspense drama "Twin Peaks" written and directed by himself, the suspense film "Mulholland Drive" and the science fiction action film "Dune".
