The new Batman spin-off "Penguin" will restart next week and release the first stills

The film "Batman" spin-off "Penguin" was previously forced to suspend filming due to the Hollywood strike. It has now been confirmed that the show will resume filming next week.

According to Empire, the series will "pick up a few days after the events of The Batman, exploring Cobblepot's actions in the power vacuum left by the departure of Carmine Falcone."

In addition to reporting on the restart, Empire magazine also shared the first stills from the series, showing the new look of the Penguin, played by Colin Farrell. Although there is no monocle, his white suit is reminiscent of the character's appearance in Gotham Knights.

In addition to Colin Farrell, the "Penguin" series will also include many "stars" from the dark side of the "simple-minded" Gotham City, including Sofia Falcone played by Cristin Milioti, Alberto Falcone played by Michael Zegen, and gangster Salvatore Maloney played by Clancy's Cleveland Brown.

The series will be broadcast on HBO Max streaming media, with a total of 8 episodes. Lauren LeFranc (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) will serve as the screenwriter and director, and Matt Reeves, director of The Batman, will serve as executive producer. The premiere date has not yet been determined.
