Akira Toriyama's "Desert Adventure" animation series will be launched on Disney+ in spring 2024

In 2000, Japanese manga master Akira Toriyama created the short comic work "Desert Adventure", which tells the story of the coexistence of humans and monsters in a water-scarce desert world. The demon prince Beelzebub and the human sheriff Rao teamed up to embark on a journey to find the "Phantom Spring" somewhere in the desert.

The animated film of the same name adapted from the original manga was also released in August this year. It was distributed by Bandai Namco and the adapted game developed by ILCA is also in full production.

Recently, Disney+ Star Japan revealed to the outside world that "Sand Land: The Series" will be adapted into an animated series called "Sand Land: The Series", which is expected to be broadcast exclusively on Disney+ Star in the spring of 2024.

The series will include content that did not appear in the theatrical version, including famous scenes from the original comic, and will extend the subsequent plot. The main production lineup is basically the original crew of the theatrical version.
