Sometimes long, sometimes short! A look at the 30-year history of the monster Godzilla's height changes

Before we knew it, Japan's most famous monster Godzilla has already roamed the big screen 30 times. The 30th film in the series (the official sequel), "Godzilla 1.0", has been released to great acclaim. Let's take a look at the history of his actual height changes over the past 30 years.

"Godzilla 1.0" is just as the title suggests, Godzilla's height setting returns to the first generation, which is 50 meters.

In fact, the 50-meter setting continued until the 15th film in the series, until 1975's "Metal Godzilla's Counterattack".

The really outrageous change began with the 16th game, which reached 80 meters in 1984. The 17th game also reached 80 meters.

From the 18th film in 1991 to the 22nd film in 1995, Godzilla grew again, reaching 100 meters.

Perhaps they realized that Godzilla wasn’t necessarily more terrifying as it got taller, so the height was reduced to 55 meters in the 23rd film in 1999, and continued until the 27th film in 2003.

In the 28th film in 2004, Godzilla grew back to 100 meters tall.

In 2006, the 29th film was even taller, at 118.5 meters. In 2014, the first film after Hollywood took over, it reached 108.2 meters, breaking the record at that time.

After that, it increased to 119.8 meters for two consecutive films, and finally shrank back to the original point when the new film was released.
