Director Francis Lawrence and Keanu Reeves recently shared the latest status of the "Constantine 2" project with entertainment media Gamespot, and it seems that things are getting back on track and making progress. The sequel to the 2005 classic was previously stalled by a writers' strike, but Lawrence and Keanu have been meeting repeatedly to ensure that the sequel can resume filming after that. "Constantine 2 was obviously affected by the writers' strike," Lawrence told Gamespot. "We had to jump through a number of hoops to get control of the character again because someone else had control of Vertigo. We already had control." He continued: "Keanu, Akiva Goldsman and I have been having meetings and talking about what we think the story is going to be, and there are more meetings that have to happen — the script has to be written first — but I really hope that we can make Constantine 2 and really make it an R-rated version." |
