Japan to remake Jay Chou's film "Secret"

Japan will remake Jay Chou's musical fantasy romance "Secret", which he wrote, directed and starred in. It will be directed by Hayato Kawai, and Kyomoto Daigo will play the role of Minato, a music university student, and Furukawa Kotone will play the role of Yukino, a music university student with a secret.

The film tells the story of how the two are attracted to each other under the guidance of the piano, and the days they spend together become irreplaceable, but one day Yukino disappears from Minato's sight. The film will be released in Japan in the summer of 2024.

The original version of "Secret" is Jay Chou's directorial debut, telling the story of high school student Ye Xianglun (played by Jay Chou) and mysterious girl Lu Xiaoyu (played by Gui Lunmei) who met because of a piano piece. It was released in China in July 2007. Previously, South Korea also announced a remake of the film, with Do Kyung-soo and Won Jin-ah playing the male and female protagonists.
