Amazon's spy drama Bastion has been a huge flop on Prime Video, according to a report from the streaming platform. The international drama, starring Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jones as agents of an international espionage organization called Bastion, premiered in April this year but received poor reviews. Bloomberg reports that the first season "has not ranked among the top 10 most-watched streaming shows in the U.S. in any week since its premiere," according to Nielsen metrics. Bastion was revealed to have cost $250 million to make, making it one of the most expensive TV series ever. Amazon's The Lord of the Rings: The Power of the Rings topped the list at $465 million. It was previously reported that the budget of "Fortress" soared due to a variety of factors, including reshoots and the implementation of epidemic measures. Bloomberg also reported that the team led by executive producers Russo Brothers re-edited the show and submitted it to Amazon along with the original version, but the decision ultimately cost the project another $80 million due to the need for additional shooting. Even though the cost is not low, the second season of "Fortress" is already in production by Joe Russo of the Russo brothers, and there are plans to produce several international spin-offs, including series set in India and Italy. |
