Warner Bros. hasn't greenlit Batman sequel yet

Despite The Batman's box office success and apparent confirmation of a sequel, Batman 2 remains a mystery. According to Variety, a sequel to Robert Pattinson's first Batman film has not yet been greenlit by Warner Bros. Discovery.

At CinemaCon 2022 held in April this year, the sequel to "The New Batman" was announced, starring Robert Pattinson and screenwriter and director Matt Reeves will return. But it looks like it will take many years for the sequel to be released because Warner has not officially approved it.

The Batman movie was released earlier this year and grossed $700 million worldwide, a huge success by pandemic standards, and a sequel is still very much in the works, despite the recent troubles for the studio caused by the Warner Bros.-Discovery merger.
