"The Journey of Bell Buds" ended its run in Japan with a total box office revenue of 14.79 billion yen

"The Journey of Bell Buds" officially ended its run in Japanese theaters last Saturday, with an estimated final box office revenue of 14.79 billion yen and 11.15 million tickets sold.

As Makoto Shinkai's latest work, "The Journey of Bells" surpassed his previous "Weathering with You" (lifetime box office of 14.23 billion yen). This work also became the 14th highest-grossing film in Japanese box office history and the 8th highest-grossing animated film.

"The Journey of Bell and Bud" was released in Japan on November 11 and ranked first in its first week. The film was then released in China on March 24 and also topped the box office charts. It is also the highest-grossing Japanese animated film in my country's history. As of the beginning of this month, the domestic box office of "The Journey of Bell and Bud" has exceeded 800 million yuan.

The film has also been a hit in many other countries, grossing over $10 million in North America (where it opened on April 14) as of May 5, the beginning of the month; in South Korea, it has outgrown all other Japanese films.
