Science fiction has a basis: the newly discovered volcanic planet resembles Mustafar from Star Wars

Nowadays, with the rapid development of science and technology, the plots and scenes of many science fiction movies are constantly being confirmed. According to foreign media reports recently, astronomers have discovered a new planet covered with volcanoes that resembles the planet Mustafar in "Star Wars". Let's take a look.

Mustafar is a fictional planet in the movie Star Wars. At the end of the Clone Wars, Anakin Skywalker eliminated the leadership of the Confederacy of Independent Systems here, and was subsequently defeated and seriously injured in a duel with his master Obi-Wan Kenobi.

This strange planet is named LP 791-18 d. It is similar in size to our Earth and is orbiting a small red dwarf star 90 light-years away. Scientists speculate that the reason it has become like this is because it is affected by the gravity of other planets in the same orbit, resulting in violent internal friction and intensified volcanic eruptions.

Although it looks like a lava hell, scientists say this volcanic landform is more likely to produce important elements to sustain life.
