The classic movie "Lord of War" will be filmed as a sequel, with Cage and the original director returning

The 2005 cult classic Lord of War is getting a sequel, Lords of War, which brings back Nicolas Cage and director Andrew Niccol, but this time with a new generation of arms smugglers.

In "Lord of War 2", Cage will continue to play the warmongering Yuri Orlov, and Bill Skarsgard ("John Wick 4") will join the cast to play Orlov's son Anton.

Lord of War 2 is scheduled to begin filming this fall.

Lord of War 2 Synopsis:

Orlov, the world's most notorious arms smuggler, finds himself with a son, Anton, who is trying his best to surpass his father. Anton is raising an army of mercenaries to take on America's conflicts in the Middle East. This sparks a bitter intergenerational rivalry that pits father and son against each other.

“There’s so much more to explore with these characters,” said Niccol. “Plato said it best – only the dead will see the end of the war. I’m looking forward to spending more time with this fascinating devil, Yuri Orlov, and now his illegitimate son, who is not legal in any way.”
