The director of "Train to Busan" will make a Chinese zombie movie influenced by Lam Ching-ying's movies

Yeon Sang-ho, the director of the South Korean film "Train to Busan", recently revealed that he is planning a Chinese-style zombie movie, which will be inspired by Lin Zhengying's previous works.

In an interview with Korean media, Yan Xianghao said that he had watched a lot of Chinese zombie movies recently, especially Lin Zhengying's "Mr. Vampire". The unique movements of zombies combined with Chinese Kung Fu left a deep impression on him.

However, Yeon Sang-ho said that he plans to be the screenwriter of this film instead of the director, and wants to make a new attempt through this film.

According to Wikipedia, "Mr. Vampire" (English: Mr. Vampire) is a Hong Kong-produced zombie movie released in 1985. The total box office of the film in Hong Kong reached 20 million Hong Kong dollars, and it pioneered the "zombie" movie. Until the early 1990s, many film companies in Hong Kong and Taiwan followed suit and shot more than 100 zombie movies. There were also Japanese video game companies that produced TV games with zombies as the theme.
