The second season of The Last of Us will be broadcast on Max on April 13. Neil Druckmann, head of Naughty Dog Studio, previously revealed that the plot of the second season will be adapted from the original game, and the latest news confirms this statement. Recently, series coordinator Craig Mazin revealed that the way Abby appears in "The Last of Us" will be adjusted because the series cannot allow the audience to directly control Abby like the game. In an interview, Mazin said: "In the game, players can control Abby, survive and fight from her perspective, and thus establish an emotional connection. But in the series we can't let players operate, so we need to use other narrative tools to achieve the same effect." Neil added that this is similar to the challenge of dealing with Sarah's debut in the first season. "The game lets players control Sarah from the beginning, and everyone experiences the outbreak through her perspective. Abby's appearance in the game also relies on player control, and the series needs more space for the audience to invest in the emotions." In addition, Abby's appearance in the series will be related to a key plot. The production team decided to advance this key plot to avoid spoilers that may be caused by following the game timeline. |
