Warner Bros. announces James Wan's return for The Conjuring

Warner Bros. Discovery has now given the green light to a TV series set in the Conjuring universe, which will air on HBO's rebranded streaming service Max. At the Max launch event, in addition to The Conjuring series, Warner also announced trailers for Harry Potter series and True Detective: Night Kingdom.

The Conjuring series will continue the story of the movie version. Safran and James Wan, two of the main creators of the 2013 movie The Conjuring 1, will return as executive producers of the series. The two have also worked together on The Conjuring 2, Aquaman, and the movie Aquaman 2.

The Conjuring universe has already spawned a slew of spinoffs, including the Annabelle and Nun series. The Nun 2 is set to hit theaters on September 8.
