Warner Bros. Discovery released the first trailer for “True Detective: Night Kingdom” on Wednesday at the launch of Max, the new streaming service that combines content from HBO Max and Discovery+. Trailer: Set in Ennis, Alaska, the series follows Detectives Liz Danvers (Jodie Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Carly Reiss) as they investigate the disappearance of eight workers at the Tsalal Arctic Research Station. "Some people come to Alaska to escape -- to get away from something," Foster says in the trailer. "Sometimes they come here to find something, and sometimes they find it." The trailer shows the tense relationship between Foster's Liz Danvers and Reis' Evangeline Navarro as they work together to solve a murder. In the final sequence, the frozen ice beneath Foster's feet cracks as she walks through snow and darkness. True Detective: Night Kingdom will premiere on Max in 2023. |
