Brazil shuts down 15 large Japanese anime piracy sites with 7.95 million monthly active users

The Overseas Distribution Association (CODA) of Japan recently announced that the Brazilian state of São Paulo has responded to requests and closed 15 large Japanese anime piracy sites. It is estimated that the monthly active login volume of these sites is as high as 7.95 million times.

Among the pirated animation websites that have been shut down, there is bakashi.tv, which is currently ranked third in Brazil. Its operation has long been on the "right track", and its main feature is "releasing (Japanese animation) overseas to overseas markets".

This anti-piracy action received requests and support from Toei Animation, Toho Co., Ltd., and Bandai Namco Holdings. The association said that it will make greater efforts to combat pirated Japanese anime websites in the future.
