The director of "Moonfall" originally planned to make a trilogy

The sci-fi disaster film "Moonfall" will be released in North America on February 4. Director Roland Emmerich revealed in an interview with foreign media Collider that he originally planned to make "Moonfall" into a trilogy, but if he really wanted to shoot "Moonfall" 2 and 3, then he would shoot back to back, and the ending of the second movie will remain suspenseful.

He said: "I'm not really a big fan of sequels. I'll try to make a trilogy this time, but I'm not sure I want it anymore. I think if I did a sequel, I'd make it more like the original trilogy, where the second one would have a huge cliffhanger. Because it would make absolutely no sense to people. Everything has to be neat and tidy. Why not leave them a cliffhanger? We've left you a cliffhanger, and wait two years to see the ending."

Moonfall, which cost $150 million to make, tells the story of a catastrophe that triggers a mysterious force that knocks the moon out of orbit and hurtles it toward Earth. With time running out, a team of underprivileged people launch a final assault on the moon in the hope of solving the mystery and saving Earth from catastrophe.
