DC director Gunn: Netflix has no intention of restarting the Snyder Universe and has discussed it with Director Zack Snyder

DC Studios co-head James Gunn recently expressed his views on the ongoing online petition to sell the SnyderVerse to the streaming platform Netflix, and revealed that he has discussed DC's future plans with the director in charge, Zack Snyder.

Responding to the hashtag #SellTheSnyderVerseToNetflix on Twitter, he wrote: "I have to say this has to be the weirdest hashtag because 1) Netflix has not expressed any interest in this (even though we have talked about other stuff) and, 2) Zack has not expressed any interest and is happy doing what he's currently doing (and, yes, we talked about that too)."

Gunn later added, "[Snyder] reached out to me and expressed his support for my choice. He's a great guy. Again, he seems very happy with the massive world-building that he's doing right now."

This is not the first online wish related to Zack Snyder's DC Universe. Previously, fans had hoped to use the hashtag "#RestoreTheSnyderVerse" to call on DC to continue the DC movie universe led by Snyder. After the release of "Zack Snyder's Justice League" in 2021, this wish is no longer possible.

The director had previously envisioned a total of three Justice League movies, but has since turned to new projects for Netflix. His next film, Moon Rebels, is set to be released in December 2023.

The next DC Universe movie "Shazam! 2: Wrath of the Gods" will premiere on March 17 and will be released simultaneously in China.
