According to foreign media Variety, Amazon will shoot a live-action drama "Spider-Man Noir". It is reported that this superhero series will be set in New York, USA in the 1930s, with its own universe, and the protagonist is not Peter Parker. The series is created by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Orizen Uziel, the producers of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018). A more deadly and brutal version of Peter Parker's Spider-Man, Nomadic Spider-Man fights criminals in the underworld of Depression-era New York City. Nomadic Spider-Man has appeared in multiple Spider-Man media, including the 2010 video game Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, the Disney XD series Ultimate Spider-Man, and most recently, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (where Nomadic Spider-Man is voiced by Nicolas Cage). This is the latest attempt by Sony to broaden its Spider-Verse, which has been producing films like the beloved Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and its upcoming sequel, two Venom movies, and last year's less successful Doctor Who. However, Sony has also recently tried to move IP into the TV series field. It has reached a cooperation with Amazon last year to produce multiple series based on Spider-Man universe characters. At that time, the first series was announced - "Silk: Spider Society". |
