Seth Rogen: Without the MCU, there would be no The Boys

Seth Rogen admitted that he is not a fan of the MCU, but he is grateful for the success of the MCU because it is their success that allows adult superhero dramas such as "The Boys" to exist.

In an interview, Seth Rogen, executive producer of "The Boys", mentioned this point. He said that although he likes comics very much, he feels that MCU movies are aimed at children, so he doesn't think they are very good.

However, the family-friendly market positioning of these films has exposed another part of the market space. Logan said that in this way, adult-level superhero dramas such as "The Boys" have a popularity basis.

“I think Kevin Feige is a smart guy and the people he hired to make these movies are really great filmmakers,” he said. “But for people who don’t have kids, these movies are a little too kid-oriented.”

When The Boys comics came out, Rogen said he and fellow executive producer Evan Goldberg had the same feeling: "I just thought, now comic fans will feel like, 'Oh, we've been watching Marvel for the past 15 years, and now there's something like this, which is a great addition to the field.'"

"This is something that is not designed with a young audience in mind at all. It's more geared toward an adult audience, so to speak."

“I think just like The Boys filled a void in the comics space, I think there’s a void that can be filled in the TV space,” Rogen said. “But to be honest, The Boys wouldn’t be as interesting without Marvel. I understand that.”
