Will Smith and Martin Lawrence confirm new Bad Boys film

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have recently confirmed that they will return for the fourth installment of the classic action-comedy Bad Boys series.

The untitled sequel is in early production, with directors Andel El Arbi and Bilal Fallah set to return to direct the new film, from a script written by Chris Bremner (who wrote the previous film and is also set to write National Treasure 3 in 2024).

The two directors co-directed "Bad Boys for Life", which was released in 2020 and grossed more than 426 million US dollars at the global box office.

In a video posted on Instagram, Will Smith is seen driving and saying, "Yo, I got an announcement... I gotta give you a heads up." He then starts playing Nelly's "Shake Ya Tailfeather," a key song from the second film, and arrives at Martin Lawrence's house. Lawrence asks, "Is that time now?"

The first Bad Boys was released in 1995 and was Michael Bay's feature film debut. The film had a budget of only $19 million, but it grossed over $141.4 million worldwide. Michael Bay returned to direct Bad Boys 2 in 2003, which grossed $273 million.

The release date of the fourth work has not yet been announced.
