Netflix's new drama "DP: The Deserter" was protested by 7-11 and it wanted to take legal action, saying the plot was vilifying

The new Korean drama "DP: Deserter" which was exclusively launched on Netflix on August 27, 2021 has run into trouble. According to foreign media reports on September 7, the famous 24-hour convenience store chain 7-11 lodged a solemn protest to Netflix and is preparing to resort to legal means to ban the show because the plot vilifies 7-11's brand image.

· "DP Deserter" is a drama broadcast on Netflix on August 27, 2021, directed by Han Junxi, starring Ding Haiyin, Sun Xijiu, Kim Sungjun, Gu Jiaohuan, Shin Seungho, etc. The drama is adapted from the popular webtoon of the same name. It is based on the theme of soldiers chasing deserters and will tell the troubles of young people who are forced to escape from the army.

7-11 sent a formal protest to Netflix through a law firm on the 6th, demanding that the show be banned, and said it was considering legal action.

The problem appeared in the 5th episode of "DP: Deserter". The character played by Shin Seung-ho worked in a store that seemed to be 7-11. When he was about to clean up the expired milk, he was scolded by the store manager: "Are you going to make up for the loss?"

Netflix responded today on September 7 that it is investigating the relevant internal situation and communicating with the production company.
