According to The Hollywood Reporter, the recently released horror film M3GAN has been greenlit for a sequel. Titled M3GAN 2.0, the follow-up is scheduled to hit theaters on January 17, 2025. The script will be written by Akela Cooper, who wrote the first film, and actors Allison Williams and Violet McGraw will both return. Williams was an executive producer on the original and will now serve as a producer. The Hollywood Reporter states that director Gerard Johnsotone has not yet signed on, but anonymous sources say the production company hopes to reach an agreement for his return. Likewise, it is not yet known whether Amie Donald or Jenna Davis, who played M3gan and voiced him, respectively, will be involved in the sequel. To date, M3GAN has grossed $30.4 million domestically in its opening weekend and $91.9 million worldwide. |
