The Conjuring 4 is in development, but it could be the final film in James Wan's Conjuring series. In an interview with Collider, The Conjuring director James Wan let out some of the creative team's plans for the "Conjuring Universe." When asked about The Conjuring 4 and what's coming after that, Wan was vague. "Yeah, we're developing The Conjuring 4 right now," said James Wan. "With The Conjuring movies, we're very precious to them. So we kind of want to take our time, make sure we get it right, make sure the Warrens' story is emotional, and then transition to the end. We just want to make sure we get it right, make sure it's the story we want to tell." When asked to confirm that The Conjuring 4 would be the last film, Wan said: "We never know, and neither do the audiences. Let's wait and see." After eight films (with two more on the way), the mention of an ending might not be surprising to fans of The Conjuring. However, in his interview with Collider, Wan stopped short of fully committing to confirming the end of the series, just leaving enough room for the possibility of another supernatural encounter after The Conjuring 4. |
