HBO's True Detective Season 4 Now Filming in Iceland

Three years after the third season premiered, HBO's True Detective series has begun production on the fourth season, True Detective: Night Kingdom, in Iceland.

HBO also released the official synopsis for True Detective: Night Kingdom:

“As the long winter night falls on Ennis, Alaska, the eight men who ran the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace. To solve the mystery, Detectives Liz Danvers (Jodie Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Carrie Rice) must confront their pasts and the dark truth that lies beneath the Arctic ice.”

True Detective premiered in 2014, starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, investigating an unsolved case in Louisiana, USA. The second season also featured big-name stars, including Colin Farrell and Rachel McAdams, and the third season starred Mahershala Ali, who starred in the Oscar-winning film Green Book.

Of course, the fourth season continues to maintain an A-level cast, inviting Jodie Foster, the heroine of "The Silence of the Lambs". She also starred in the 2005 movie "The Big Short" and the 2002 movie "Panic Room", participated in the 2013 movie "Elysium", and collaborated with Chow Yun-fat in "Anna and the King".
