The movie "Dying to Survive" was fined 20,000 yuan for copyright infringement on its fourth anniversary

According to a report by China News Network on July 6, a first-instance civil judgment published on the Beijing Court Trial Information Network on July 5 showed that Beijing Bad Monkey Cultural Industry Development Co., Ltd. was sued for using photos of buildings in New Delhi, India taken by the plaintiff Zhang in the movie "Dying to Survive" without permission.

The court held that the photos used in the film in question were basically consistent with the structure, color, shooting angle, and light and shadow of the plaintiff's work in question. The court found the defendant guilty of infringement at first instance. The verdict showed that the defendant was required to stop the infringing acts in question, compensate the plaintiff Zhang for economic losses of 20,000 yuan, and apologize.

The movie "Dying to Survive" was filmed in 2017, starring Xu Zheng, Zhou Yiwei, Wang Chuanjun and others. The following plot appears at the 2nd minute and 35 seconds of the film's opening: the camera sweeps across the health product store run by the male protagonist, and the alleged infringing photographic work appears on the photo wall, which occupies about one-sixth of the screen and appears for 2 seconds.
