The Riddler actor in The Batman claims DC installed tracking devices to prevent script leaks

Movie studios go to great lengths to prevent storylines from leaking, and superhero movies are known to go a step further in terms of secrecy. Actor Paul Dano, who plays the Riddler in the film, recently opened up about his time filming Batman and having a "special folder" that was even equipped with a "tracking device" to prevent leaks.

Speaking to GQ Hype, Dano said: "[They told me] Don't lose this. Put it in your 'special folder.' But this is the first time I've ever gotten a folder with a combination lock. And they had a tracking device on it."

The actor also revealed how he's adjusted to the huge fame that came with starring in the DC Comics adaptations, and how he feels he's better equipped to handle it now than when he was younger. "When I was 25, I wasn't ready to do a movie like Batman," he said.

"I think it would have been hard for me to handle all the press and the pressure of being recognized by everyone all the time. I've gotten much better at it now. Honestly, the biggest difference now is that I know what I want. Like: I want to be an artist, I want to be an actor, I want to be a director, and I really want to make my next movie. And, I feel like I want to be a comic book writer, too?"

Dano created the backstory for the villain Riddler in The Batman, and then the film director Matt Reeves encouraged him to create a comic based on the film's plot. Currently, this series of comics has been planned to be launched. The comic called Riddler: Year One will be divided into 6 issues and will be released on October 25.
