Director Gunn revealed that DCU has more than one R-rated project, "Bio Commando", as long as the story is worth creating

The new DCU opening animated series "Bio Commando", created by "Director Gunn" James Gunn, will be exclusively broadcast on the Max platform on December 5, 2025.

Recently, director Gunn revealed in an interview with foreign media "Collider" that there may be more than one R-rated project in the DCU plan, including "Bio Commandos".

In response, Gun said: "This is not to test whether this thing works. This is just to tell a story. If a story is rated R, we can totally accept it. If it (referring to the "more than one" work in production) will be rated PG, PG-13 or G, I don't care - as long as the story is worth making, we will do it."

It is worth mentioning that this film, which tells the story of a group of imprisoned monsters being asked to form a super group and take on the mission of saving the world, is rated TV-MA (indicating that it may contain content that is not suitable for minors under the age of 17 or is only suitable for adult audiences).

However, this 7-episode animated work is not the true beginning of DCU. As the first movie of the new DCU, the new "Superman" is currently rated PG-13, which means that the main works of DCU will still take into account all ages.
