According to a recent report by foreign media Variety, the first trailer of the live-action version of The Little Mermaid has been viewed by 104 million people on multiple platforms around the world within 24 hours. However, the trailer has 450,000 likes and 1.43 million dislikes on YouTube, surpassing the 1.21 million dislikes of the 2016 female version of The Ghostbusters trailer, setting a record for the most dislikes for a Hollywood movie. It seems that foreign netizens are not buying it either!

The live-action trailer of The Little Mermaid became the top trending topic on Reddit and the top trending video on YouTube's movie channel on the day of its release. It received praise on Twitter from Zendaya Coleman, Halle Berry, Ben Platt, Nicki Minaj and Amanda Gorman.

It is worth mentioning that the first trailer of the Disney Princess series still had the highest 24-hour viewing volume of "Mulan", with 175.1 million views.
