The new 007 casting requirements: around 30 years old and over 1.78 meters tall

According to foreign media reports, James Bond's producers are looking for a younger 007 actor who is around 30 years old and over 1.78 meters tall.

According to Twitter user Ross King, James Bond producers have ruled out 42-year-old British actor Sam Heughan (Outlander, A Very English Sex Scandal) from the role.

Ross King told the Lorranie Show: "The latest rumours, some of the details are true. That is, basically the Bond producers are looking for a younger Bond, maybe around 30."

The most recent 007 was Daniel Craig, who first played the role at the age of 38 in Casino Royale, and then continued to play James Bond for the next 15 years. Now that the producers are looking to the future of the series, it's understandable that they want someone who can carry the torch for a while.

Ross said: "Ultimately, they want this person to be in three Bond movies. For the franchise, they want this person to be able to carry the franchise like Craig did."

In addition to age, there is another requirement for the new 007 - height.

Ross revealed: "Another thing they said was that they had to be taller than 5ft 10in (1.78m)."

Craig himself is 5 feet 10 inches tall, while most other Bonds are over 6 feet tall.

This means that Tom Hardy, 44 (and still a long way from 6 feet tall), and Idris Elba, 49, do not meet the casting requirements for the new 007. Even Henry Cavill, 39, may not be suitable.
