'Gravity' director to star in new film, starring Charlize Theron

Alfonso Cuarón, the director of "Gravity" and "Roma", finally has a new film. He will collaborate with Charlize Theron on the feature film "Jane": focusing on the stillborn twin sister of the famous science fiction novelist Philip K. Dick ("Blade Runner", "Minority Report", "Total Recall"), the story will explore the relationship between Dick and Jane.

Philip K. Dick had a twin sister who died when she was only 6 months old. Jane's death affected Dick's life. He believed that many of his psychological problems and setbacks were related to her death, including his attachment anxiety, which also affected his creation and life.

The death of his twin sister deeply influenced Dick's writing, interpersonal relationships and life views, resulting in a recurring theme in his works: "twin ghosts". Dick's life experience is as psychedelic as his works, with a mixture of reality and fiction.

The film is described as "a moving, suspenseful and darkly humorous story about a woman's unique relationship with her brilliant but troubled twin, science fiction writer Philip K. Dick. Jane tries to rescue her brother from his real and imagined dilemmas, but in the process she becomes drawn deeper and deeper into the fantastical world he has created."

Dick's daughter Isa Hackett will serve as executive producer. She said she is very familiar with Jane's story. Although Jane died young, she occupies a central position in her father's universe. "This movie matches his unique imagination and will ignore the conventions of 'biopics' to incorporate the parallel reality that Philip K. Dick longed for very much. In that world, his beloved sister did not die at the age of 6 months. We will tell her story and see him and his imagination through her perspective. There is no better way to commemorate my father."
