Riot hired Avengers director to make League of Legends movie, but eventually backed out and paid $5 million

The second season of "League of Legends: War of Two Towers" will be officially aired on November 9. According to "GamesRadar+", "League of Legends" developer Riot Games invited directors Joe Russo and Anthony Russo in 2020 to "develop a film project set in the "League of Legends" universe. However, due to problems with the script, the studio believed that "it was no longer the script they wanted", and was restricted by a "bad negotiation agreement", which led Riot to finally pay $5 million to let the Russo brothers leave.

At present, no further details have been revealed about the League of Legends film adaptation project, but this shows that Riot intends to expand its multimedia plan through big-budget Hollywood adaptations.
