Bale talks about returning to the Batman movie: Nolan must direct it

Christian Bale says he will only return to play Batman if Christopher Nolan asks him to.

The actor may have put away his cape at the end of The Dark Knight trilogy, but he hasn't completely given up on the idea of playing Batman again. In an interview with ComicBook, Bale admitted that he would consider returning to play Batman, but with one condition: it would have to be directed by Christopher Nolan.

Although Bale is willing to continue working with Chris Nolan, Bale himself confirmed that no one has contacted him to play Batman again, including Nolan.

"For me, it would be a question for Nolan. If he decides to do it again, if he chooses to come to me again, then yes, I would consider it because this has always been our agreement with each other and we will stick to it. We said we would only make three. And then I said to myself, I will only do it with Chris."

Bale played Bruce Wayne/Batman in the trilogy of Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, which concluded in 2012. Warner Bros. later offered Bale a fourth Batman movie, but he turned it down out of respect for Nolan, who had always envisioned his story as a trilogy.

However, Bale is still pushing forward with comic book adaptations, as he recently starred in Marvel's "Thor 4" as the villain Gorr the God Butcher.
