Doctor Morbius wins North American title in first weekend

Although the Rotten Tomatoes rating is only 17%, the Spider-Man spin-off film "Doctor Vigilante: Morbius" still earned $39.1 million in North America last weekend, winning the championship. "The Batman" ranked third with $10.8 million, and the global box office exceeded $700 million.

"Morbius", which has been postponed many times, opened with $39 million in North America and $44.9 million outside North America. The film has currently grossed $84 million worldwide.

The film cost $75 million to make, and although this box office opening is not a big hit, foreign media expects it to barely make a profit after taking into account the streaming rights revenue. Compared with the opening performance of previous Spider-Man spin-offs, Venom (80.3 million U.S. dollars) and Venom 2 (90 million U.S. dollars), the performance of Doctor Morbius is very average.

Next, Sony will launch two Spider-Man spin-offs, "Kraven the Hunter" starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson and "Mrs. Spider" starring Dakota Johnson.
