Spider-Man: No Return breaks $800 million at North American box office

According to foreign media reports, Spider-Man: No Homecoming broke the $800 million mark at the North American box office in its 15th weekend of release, and is currently the third highest-grossing film in North American film history. The other two films with North American box office exceeding $800 million are Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($936 million) and Avengers: Endgame ($858 million).

Spider-Man: No Return has surpassed other blockbuster movies such as Avatar, Black Panther and The Avengers at the box office. Globally, the film has grossed nearly $1.9 billion since its release in December last year.

Spider-Man: No Homecoming is the final chapter of the Hero Trilogy and also marks the official opening of the Marvel Multiverse. This time, Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) team up again to fight a time-space battle after Avengers 4. Spider-Man uses Doctor Strange's ability to manipulate time and space to open a time-space channel, triggering an unprecedented crisis.
