Uncharted movie ranks fifth in the history of game-adapted movies, surpassing The Sands of Time

The Uncharted movie has officially entered the top five of the all-time video game movie box office list, surpassing Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

After a new weekend of release, the global box office of the Uncharted movie reached 337.3 million US dollars, making Uncharted the fifth highest-grossing video game movie in history, surpassing Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time with 336.4 million US dollars.

On this historical box office list of video game movies, "Warcraft" still tops the list, with a global box office of 439 million US dollars; followed by "Detective Pikachu", with a global box office of 431 million US dollars; third place is "Rampage", with a global box office of 428 million US dollars; fourth place, ahead of "Uncharted", is "The Angry Birds Movie", with a global box office of 352 million US dollars.

In addition, the film is the third highest-grossing video game movie of all time in the United States. Uncharted's US box office revenue of $125.9 million accounts for 37.3% of its global total, only behind Sonic the Hedgehog ($148.9 million) and Detective Pikachu ($144 million). This is very important, which makes it possible for Sony to launch a sequel to the film. The highest-grossing "Warcraft" only earned $47.4 million in the United States, which is one of the reasons why it did not get a sequel.
