'The Boys' actor arrested in Spain for alcohol abuse

New Zealand actor Antony Starr, best known for his role as Homelander in the Amazon series The Boys, was arrested in Spain for drunkenly assaulting a young chef and was sentenced to 12 months in prison, the Daily Mail reported.

Starr was convicted of wounding with intent in a speedy trial at the Alicante city court this week.

The incident reportedly took place in a bar in Alicante early Wednesday morning local time. After the incident, the bar called the police. A 21-year-old chef at the scene told the police that he was punched twice by the actor and hit in the face with a glass.

He reportedly told the chef: "You don't know who you've messed with... You've made the biggest mistake of your life and I'm going to come find you and I'm going to kill you."

The chef was then taken to hospital and received four stitches just above his eye. Starr is reportedly in Spain filming a new action film directed by Guy Ritchie with Jake Gyllenhaal.
