James Gunn, the director of the DC movie universe, shared the first stills of Superman and his super pet Krypton in the new Superman movie on social media yesterday, and revealed that the design of Krypton in the movie was inspired by his own dog Ozu. However, some fans were dissatisfied with Krypton's smaller and somewhat scruffy appearance. One user commented: "Okay cool, but... isn't Krypton a Labrador... or... a Kryptonian Labrador?" Indeed, in recent DC comics, Krypton's design is a Labrador, including in the 2022 movie "DC Pets Squad". Apparently, there are so many people who have given various "opinions" to Director Gunn that he is a little annoyed. In a limited-time tweet on Instagram, he shared screenshots of the comics, showing that in some early comic designs, Xiaoke's design is almost the same as the new movie design. Krypton first appeared in the DC Comics in 1995, initially as a one-off character but eventually as a recurring character. On screen, he first appeared in the classic TV series Smallville, but the new Super-Man will be his first live-action film appearance as a regular character. It has been confirmed that actor David Corenswet will play the new Superman/Clark Kent, while actress Rachel Brosnahan will play Lois. The cast also includes Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Isabella Morsed as Hawkgirl, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. The film will be written and directed by Gunn alone. |
