"Joel" is confident in HBO's "The Last of Us": it will not disappoint people

HBO's The Last of Us may leave viewers with a lasting impression, as Pedro Pascal, who plays Joel, has assured eager fans and new viewers that the series will not disappoint and will be well-served.

Many fans are concerned that The Last of Us will not be faithful to the games, but Pedro Pascal told German magazine Neelix that fans and viewers don't have to worry about these concerns.

Pedro Pascal introduced his character Joel in the episode "The Last of Us" and said that he was excited to play the role. "I feel like it's very interesting to shoot. It's something new for me. It's a good opportunity to show a different side of me to the fans."

The reporter asked if fans' expectations put any pressure on the TV series adapted from the game? Pascal replied: "I think the adapted work is more attractive than the game, I have no doubt about it. We will not let fans and new audiences down!"

The Last of Us is the first TV series from PlayStation Productions, with Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin and Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann writing and producing the series. Filming began in July 2021 and is expected to wrap up in mid-2022.
