The highly rated tear-jerking animated film "Looking Back" is officially scheduled to be released on October 26, composing a delicate poem of friendship and dreams

The highly rated tear-jerking animated film "Looking Back" announced today that it will be released on October 26th on the National Art Federation's special line, and the first poster and trailer were released at the same time. The film is adapted from the popular original work of the same name by the well-known Japanese cartoonist Fujimoto. It is also the first time that his work has been adapted for the big screen. Kiyotaka Oshiyama is the director, screenwriter and character designer. The story tells the story of Fujino, an elementary school student who serializes four-frame comics in the school newspaper, who accidentally learns that his classmate Kyomoto, who has been "staying at home" for a long time and has not been to school, is also drawing comics. The two girls with opposite personalities are connected because of their love for comics. They walk hand in hand, and there are joys and sorrows as time passes. But no matter when, as long as they look back, they are still behind each other, and perhaps they can meet again when they look back... Since the film was released in Japan, it has topped the Japanese box office for two consecutive weeks, attracting more than 1 million viewers.

The trailer for the release date shows the youth and dreams, and the exquisite painting style fully displays the essence of the original work.

In the trailer released today, we can see the touching moment when Fujino concentrates on painting at the desk. The back of the girl is completely immersed in the world of creation. The mirror on the table reflects her focused face. The moving pen tip and the constantly rubbing eraser lead the audience into the wonderful world of unremitting efforts for dreams. Suddenly, the brush paused, and Fujino suddenly stood up and walked towards the audience. At this time, the words "keep painting" flashed, as if she was talking to the audience through the screen, encouraging and inviting everyone to not stop with herself. The first poster released simultaneously with the trailer further enriched the scene of Fujino's painting. In the poster, Fujino still has her back to the camera, and her movements appear more vivid. The waving pen, the four-frame comic paper on the floor, and the waste paper piled in the trash can witnessed her countless practice and attempts. The bookcases and floors are filled with popular comic classics such as "One Piece", which not only shows Fujino's love for comics, but also resonates with countless comic lovers.

The original work of "When I Look Back" shows a completely different style of painting and gentle brushstrokes, delicately depicting the story of dreams and youth. In order to restore the original work and show the original style and essence of the story, the film perfectly captures and presents every detail in the original work with refined narrative and carefully designed rhythm, allowing the audience to enjoy a complete and profound story. Director Kiyotaka Oshiyama, who was born as an animator, has drawn original paintings for many classic animation works such as "Slam Dunk (Theatrical Edition)", "How Do You Want to Live Your Life", "Doraemon" series and "The Wind Rises", and has accumulated rich creative experience. When directing "When I Look Back", Kiyotaka Oshiyama is committed to delicately capturing and showing the inner world of the painter. He shared: "The working method of animators or animation directors is similar to that of cartoonists. When I read the comics, I was deeply moved by the story, and I naturally resonated with Mr. Fujimoto who created "When I Look Back." This resonance is not only reflected in the deep understanding of the work, but also in how he transforms this emotion into every detail in the animation.

The international reputation has been high and it has received overwhelming praise. Industry giants have widely recognized it as a masterpiece.

In June this year, the film held its international premiere at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France and its Asian premiere at the Shanghai International Film Festival. Both screenings received warm responses and praise. Although the French screening was not the final version, it has received a lot of positive reviews. The complete version screened at the Shanghai International Film Festival won applause from the audience after the screening. Everyone was moved by the story and the sincere emotions in the film - the protagonist's desperate rush for her dream when she was young, and the bond between the girls because of their dreams and passion, which knocked on the soft corners of the audience's hearts. The film received a rating of 8.7 on Douban, which proves the recognition and love of the audience.

After its release in Japan, the film won the first weekend box office and attendance championship, and topped the box office charts for two consecutive weeks. On the well-known Japanese film review website Filmarks, the film received a high score of 4.5 (out of 5 points), and also received a good review of 8.3 points on IMDb, with a Rotten Tomatoes freshness of 100%, a popcorn index of 98%, an MTC score of 90, and letterboxd 4.4. The film currently has a Douban score of 8.7 points. Not only has it gained wide recognition among audiences around the world, the film has also been highly praised in the industry. Ghibli producer Suzuki Toshio said, "Who this movie is made for? The answer is in the movie." The well-known Japanese producer Hideo Kojima praised this work as "one of the most memorable animations in the past decade." Artist Yoshitomo Nara also shared his feelings, "The animation that connects the grids of the comics is like looking at a kaleidoscope, pulling yourself back into the story."

The movie "Looking Back" is imported by China Film Group Corporation, distributed by China Film Co., Ltd., and translated by China Film Co., Ltd. It will be screened on the National Art Federation's special line on October 26. Stay tuned!
