Uncharted Movie Director to Adapt Jak and Daxter

The director of the Uncharted movie has revealed that he is also developing an adaptation of another Sony Naughty Dog game, Jak and Daxter.

In an interview with Digital Trends, Uncharted film director Ruben Fleischer confirmed that he is working with Sony to bring another Naughty Dog series to film or television screens.

“I’m actually developing an adaptation of Jak and Daxter for the PlayStation, and I thought it would be really cool to bring that to life.”

In a recent interview with GameSpot, Uncharted and Spider-Man star Tom Holland also said that a live-action version of Jak and Daxter would be his next dream video game adaptation.

He said: "I want to make a Jak & Daxter movie, and I'm willing to experiment with Jack. But I'm going to make it at A24, so it's going to be weird and dark. I really like this version of Jak & Daxter."

In the early 2000s, three main Jak & Daxter games were released for the PlayStation 2, followed by a racing spin-off and several handheld games.

Despite releasing a high-definition collection for the PS3 and PS Vita in 2012 and a similar bundle for the PS4 in 2017, Sony hasn't released a new game in the series in 12 years.

The Uncharted film will be released in the UK on February 11 and in US cinemas a week later.
