According to the latest report from Japanese media on January 15, according to the latest statistics from the Japan Anti-Piracy Association ABJ (Authorized Books of Japan) as of the 15th, the loss of genuine comics due to piracy is approximately 1.19 trillion yen, and the number of pirated websites that have been tracked and identified has also increased dramatically to more than 900.

•According to ABJ’s survey statistics, the sales of genuine comics in 2021 were approximately 612.6 billion yen. In contrast, the loss of genuine comics due to piracy was approximately 1.19 trillion yen, 1.6 times that of the genuine ones. A total of more than 900 pirated websites of all sizes have been confirmed to be in operation, and the total number and visits are nearly 4 times that of 2020.
