The official trailer for "The Legend of Vox Machina" has finally been released, including the long-awaited fighting scenes, funny dialogues, and more that many fans who have followed Critical Role for many years have been waiting for. The Legend of Vox Machina Official Trailer:Produced by animation studio Titmouse, the original team of Critical Role, a group of professional voice actors, will be responsible for dubbing. The fantasy adventure animation series for adults inspired by the famous board game "Dungeons & Dragons" will premiere on Amazon's online live streaming platform Prime Video on January 28. Amazon also revealed that the first season consists of 12 episodes, with 3 episodes released each week starting on Friday, January 28. For those unfamiliar, The Legend of Vox Machina is based on a tabletop RPG livestream called Critical Role (mostly D&D Dungeons & Dragons) that has been running since 2015. The anime follows a group of unlikely adventurers called Vox Machina as they try to save the kingdom of Exandria from the evil Commander Mage and his powerful curse. Critical Role's members include many well-known voice actors in the gaming industry, including Matt Mercer, who voiced the Overwatch character McCree, as the organizer and "city lord (DM)", Laura Bailey, who voiced the famous female mage Jaina in Warcraft and World of Warcraft, and Ashley Johnson, who voiced Ellie in The Last of Us. The animation "The Legend of Vox Machina" was first launched by these voice actors (who are also board game enthusiasts) on Kickstarter in 2019. It has been in preparation for three years. Within one hour of the crowdfunding opening, it exceeded all the predetermined goals, reaching $750,000; the final fundraising reached $11.39 million, and it still holds the record for the film/TV series project with the most crowdfunding in the history of the crowdfunding platform. Afterwards, Amazon Studios booked two seasons of the animation, totaling 24 episodes. In a Kickstarter backer update on Wednesday, Critical Role reiterated that backers will be able to watch the first two episodes of the anime in advance before they premiere on Prime Video. |
