Spider-Man: No Homecoming becomes Sony's highest-grossing film ever

According to statistics, Spider-Man: No Homecoming grossed $1.16 billion worldwide, surpassing Spider-Man: Far From Home's $1.13 billion, becoming the highest-grossing film in Sony's history. The film grossed $516 million in North America, the first time a Sony film has grossed over $500 million, and a total of $645 million outside North America.

Spider-Man: Far From Home grossed $24.775 million in North America on Monday, down only 26%, creating the second-highest Monday box office in film history. Spider-Man: No Return had already surpassed The Battle at Lake Changjin ($902 million) to top the 2021 global box office charts.

Spider-Man: No Home is directed by Joe Watts and stars Tom Holland, Zendaya Coleman, and Benedict Cumberbatch. The film follows Spider-Man: Far From Home, a sequel to the Spider-Man series, and tells the story of how Spider-Man's life has fallen into chaos after his identity was exposed, and he has even been protested by people all over the world. To change all this, Spider-Man goes to seek help from Doctor Strange, and a greater crisis ensues after the multiverse opens up.

"Spider-Man: No Homecoming" will be released in North America on December 17, 2021, and the release date in mainland China is to be determined.
