The "Halo" TV series released its first trailer at the 2021 TGA. The series will be released in 2022. Recently, executives of 343 Studios stated that the "Halo" TV series will have its own timeline and story and will have nothing to do with the orthodox game. In a video shared by user Halopedia on Twitter, Kiki Wolfkill, head of Halo cross-media and entertainment at 343 Studios, explained that the Halo TV series will not be part of the current orthodox game series, but will create its own story, which 343 calls the "Halo Silver Timeline." "We do have some different settings and perspectives that are different from what we experience or feel in the game," Wolfkill said. "We call it the 'Silver Timeline of Halo' to separate it from the core canon story. It protects both the core canon and the TV version of the story. What I mean by that is that it allows us to have the opportunity to develop these two different media and make them what they need to be without them conflicting with each other." Given that the Halo backstory is so large and complex, spanning multiple games, books, and other content, it's not surprising that the official decision was made regarding the TV series. |
