Golden Horse Award winner Chen Songyong dies at 80

According to Taiwan media reports, actor Chen Songyong, who won the Golden Horse Award for Best Actor for the movie "A City of Sadness", died at the age of 80 at Taoyuan Chang Gung Memorial Hospital on December 17. Chen Songyong played Lei Lao Hu in "The Kung Fu Emperor Fang Shiyu", and the classic line "Conquer people with virtue" left a deep impression on the audience.

Chen Songyong made his debut in 1970 and has starred in many well-known dramas and films. In 1989, he won the Golden Horse Award for Best Actor for his role as Lin Wenxiong in A City of Sadness directed by Hou Hsiao-hsien. He also played the role of Lei Lao Hu in The Kung Fu Emperor Fang Shiyu, which is well known to the audience. Chen Songyong's representative works also include Lu Binghua, Gangster Family, Prison on Fire 2, and New Shaolin Five Ancestors.
