"LoveLive!" is a part of the two-dimensional idol project jointly created by Japanese animation production company SUNRISE, music publisher Lantis and monthly magazine Dengeki G'smagazine. It tells the story of a traditional high school "Otonogizaka Academy" located in Chiyoda District, Tokyo, which is facing the crisis of closing down due to a sharp drop in the number of students enrolled.

Nine of the girls came up with a brilliant idea - to become idols. As long as they become idols, the school's reputation will increase, and the number of students enrolled will also increase. In this way, the nine girls with distinct personalities decided to work together to become idols, hoping to increase the number of students by relying on the fame of idols to save their favorite campus.

The new chapter of the series has been confirmed to be named "LoveLive! Superstar". The stage this time is located in the newly established school, Private Yuuga Girls' High School, located between Omotesando, Harajuku, and Aoyama. It is a new adventure story about the encounter between 5 rising star girls and "campus idols".
