George Miller: If the stars align, I'll make another Mad Max

George Miller is considering taking another trip to Mad Max: Fury Road.

Following 2015's reboot Mad Max: Fury Road and last year's prequel Furiosa, the Oscar-winning director recently revealed he'd like to make another sequel if "for whatever reason, the stars align," but he also has several other projects on his plate.

He spoke to Vulture about his plans for Mad Max. "We still have a script, but I've been in this business long enough to be used to telling stories, and I find myself having so many stories — not just in my head, but also in the form of scripts, or at least very detailed notes that can be turned into scripts at my fingertips," he said. "I'm really a professional daydreamer. It was considered my big flaw when I was a kid: I had a report card that said, 'If George hadn't been so much of a daydreamer, he would have done better in school.'"

Miller added: "So, there are a lot of stories. One of them is about Mad Max. But it's not what I'm going to do next because I have two things I'd love to do next. But if for some reason the stars align, you never know. So many times, you're about to make a movie and then something happens. Some things fall into place and some don't, so all I can say is, we'll see."

Road warrior Max Rockatansky, played by Tom Hardy, helps an enslaved Furiosa (Charlize Theron) escape with the five imprisoned wives of the tyrant Immortan Joe in Mad Max: Fury Road. The sequel also stars Nicholas Hoult, Riley Keough, Zoe Kravitz and Courtney Eaton.
