Today, November 2, the winner of the Order of the Purple Ribbon, the highest award given by the Japanese government to recognize outstanding contributions to culture, was announced. In the field of animation, the winner was awarded to the famous animation director Masaaki Yuasa, and Yuasa's new animated film "Inu-oh" is scheduled to be released next year.

•The Order of the Purple Ribbon is one of the many different colored medals awarded by the Japanese government. It is awarded to people who have made outstanding contributions in the fields of academia, art, and sports. It was established on January 23, 1955 (Decree No. 7) and is awarded in Tokyo in spring and autumn every year.

• Masaaki Yuasa, born on March 16, 1965 in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, is a Japanese animation director, screenwriter, and producer. In 1990, he served as the art designer for the animation "Chibi Maruko-chan". In 1992, he served as the animation supervisor, setting, and original painting in the animation "Crayon Shin-chan". He has since produced many animated films. The latest work "Inu-oh" is scheduled to be released in 2022. The prototype is based on the Japanese classical novel "The Tale of the Heike Inu-oh", which tells the life story of the legendary Noh musician "Inu-oh" in Japanese history.
